The Matthew Epp Award

The Matthew Epp Award is named in honour of Matthew Epp who was the first winner of The Write Contest and won a prize and a publishing contract for his book, ‘Hope and the Dragon’.
To encourage, inspire and motivate students across all age group, to promote literacy and encourage a greater understanding of one’s self through the process of writing.
Aaspirations Publishing Inc. encourages all student writers in Canada to explore their talents by sending in new, untried work as an entry for children’s writing/juvenile writing. Submitted work will be read by professionals - writers, editors, booksellers, librarians or teachers and may win the entrant a great prize and a publishing contract.
The Matthew Epp Award is open to all students in the grades 3-6, 7-9, 10-12. Students may submit original, currently unsubmitted, unpublished and unaccepted work in English, typed or word-processed, single-sided, double-spaced, 8 1/2 x 11 (or A4), pages numbered, and not stapled.
To assure blind judging, include entries on a SEPARATE cover page giving your name/ (First name and first initial) school’s name and address/ telephone, title(s), date of entry, brief literary bio and accurate word count.
No revisions are permitted after submission. Class entries may also be submitted.
