Workshop

The Haven Spear, a great new book by author Nick Mucci, is the basis of this workshop. Students are fascinated to know what goes into the mind of an author when a book is structured in such a way as to be made into a movie and video games. By connecting video games and movies to books, students and boys in particular are inspired to create their own special characters and stories, thus learning in the process that literacy – reading and writing is the backbone of everything that is fun, including movies and games. Without a proper understanding of the language and the key differences between spoken and written English, it is impossible to write great dialogue.
